FAQs Soft Skirtings
Can I fasten soft skirtings also with hot melt adhesive?
Hot melt adhesives are not suited for gluing of soft skirtings because the uneven application would result in adhesive bloom showing on the front of the profile. We would recommend conventional solvent-free contact adhesives or dry adhesives (POMUR for the WL 50 life) for gluing our soft skirtings. Manufacturer information should be taken into account during installation.
The profile will arch and lift off on the outside corners when installing the WL 50 life soft skirting with dry adhesives. How can I prevent this?
You should first fit the adhesive tape and then cut the soft skirting to shape. Then lay the profile around the outside corner without tensioning or stressing, after folding and hammering the pre-folded position with a rubber mallet. It is also possible to use a hot air blower to slightly heat the outside corner folded area after fastening the profile. This will also allow removal of any stress or of stress whitening. Finally use a rubber mallet to tap on the profile everywhere, or roll on with a wallpaper roller. Click here for installation instructions.
How can I use the Pomur adhesive tape to attach the soft skirtings?
We recommend attaching the adhesive tape to the wall first before fitting the soft skirting. Be sure to then tap on the WL 50 life with a rubber mallet everywhere to ensure full adhesion of the dry adhesive.
